Intel Hex worth it?

Hi guys, I am currently doing a system upgrade for gaming and I wanted to know if upgrading from an AMD FX-8350 to a Intel i7 5820k is worth it? I know the intel is better but it will need to be a massive performance boost for me to even think of spending that much money. I will be running this with a msi gtx 980. thanks

The 5820K is a huge boost over the 8350; there's simply no comparison.

That said, the 5820K is overkill for gaming. An i7 is as much as you really need, and even that's overkill most of the time.

So should I just stick with the 8350? I haven't had any problems with it yet. I know Intel is better but AMD is brilliant price wise

If you have a 1920x1080 60Hz monitor, then I don't think an upgrade is very worthwhile. As long as the CPU isn't a bottleneck (100% use on one or all threads), I wouldn't worry about upgrading yet.

I have unparked all the cores, and it runs pretty nice alongside the 980 so ill keep the old girl. thanks mate
