Hello, so a lot of my games have been crashing when launching the m or straight up won't even load. And some games that do work will only work on DX11 and not DX12. Recently I saw a thing where if you lower the performance core ration to under 55x, that things will start to work. I did this and set it to 54x instead of its factory setting at 57x. Everything immediately started to work fine, no problems at all. So, my Questions are why is this? Also does changing it from 57x to 54x give me less performance in games and how bad?

. RTX 4090
. Intel i9- 14900k
. 32GB DDR5 RAM

x57 on all cores is not factory setting for the CPU, it's the mobo auto overclocking, dialing that back to what your cpu actually can do makes the system more stable.

Difference in games will be very small if anything.

Have you updated your bios ever since intel released the final fix for the overvolting issue they had? When the CPU is running too fast it is also getting too much voltage and might get worse over time, the bios fixes should stop that from happening.
