Hi,
I'm looking at a new laptop and have narrowed it down to two, but struggling to work out which would be better. I'll usually have multiple programmes open at once, but nothing too heavy on the machine, YouTube/Netflix videos and occasionally video editing on GoPro software.
The cheaper one has a newer processor, but the more expensive one has a better graphics card..... So, which one would you recommend? Would the older i5 make much of a difference?

Custom made, Impact RT2 £545 (plus £15 postage and £35 for quicker turn around)
CPU: Intel Core i5 4210M
RAM: 8GB Corsair 1600mhz Vengeance Sodimm (2x4GB)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 840M 2GB
Hard Drive: 1TB S-ATAIII 6.0gb/ 2.5

Lenovo Z51: £499
CPU: Intel Core i5 5200U
RAM: 8GB DDR3L
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R7 M360
Hard Drive: 1TB SSHD

The i5-4210m is overall the more powerful CPU primarily due to higher clock speeds. A 5th gen Intel CPU is only about 5% more powerful than a 4th gen Intel CPU assuming the same clock speeds.

For everyday tasks you will basically not notice a difference. However, video editing is CPU intensive so the i5-4210m will outperform the newer i5-5200u.
