I will be mostly watching videos and playing games. I am not sure witch one to go for because if I go with the AMD then I will be able to get a better GPU, but if I go with I5 I will have a better performance. So I wanted to ask you guys.

Solution

Ok, since your in 960 price range for gpu, i would buy an i3, upgrade to an i7/xeon later. Whats your full build, to see if we can stretch the gpu budget.

Also, what resolution and games do you plan on playing.

My GPU will be a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB if I will be getting a amd..

Thank you and I am on a budget

Solution

If you are on a budget, consider getting an i3, which will allow for a bit of upgrades later on in the future.

This is my full build:
Processor:AMD or Intel (Deciding)
Gpu:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4GB

All quality components, offers an upgrade path up to i7. Z97 is not worth it unless you want to sli or OC in the future. R9 280 is faster than a 960, but uses much more power.

I am not building my own.I am ordering from cyberpower.
