Few games use more than 2-3 cores, so a 8 core FX is not that useful
As posted earlier, the fx-8320 has a passmark of 8086.
But, that is when using all 8 cores in a benchmark.
The i5-4590 has a passmark rating of 7273.
The FX is marginally better for multithreaded apps, but not nearly as good as the i5 in gaming.
Here is a older comparison in some games. The nearest competitors, the i5-3350 referenced has a passmark of 6819, and the FX-8350 has a passmark of 9024.

As you can see, the much faster core speeds of fewer core prevails making the i5-4590 much better for gaming.

Your other parts are fine. A decent 650w psu can power a card as strong as a GTX780ti or a R9-290.
