Intel i5 6400 vs AMD FX 8350

I am recently building a new PC and was wondering which CPU (6400 or 8350) will tower over the other in terms of gaming performance. My build will play games around medium-high settings and I just need feedback on which CPU will offer better gaming performance.

Just an example but Intels CPUs are just faster for gaming in general, even the i5 3470 beats the FX 8350 and it is 3 generations older than the i5 6400.

Intel is better for gaming as their core performance in single threading is far more better than AMD's performance. however if your on a budget AMD is better for you. If you just want performance and dont care about price then intel is the way to go

Need to know more. What is the total budget? Since the 8350 can handle more threads than the 6400, it can be advantageous in certain scenarios, like streaming or budget editing/rendering. It really depends on the situation.
