When it means max turbo frequency of 3.8GHz does that mean it will run at 3.8GHz when overclocked? The Base Frequency is 3.4GHz. Also, it says in the product description that it support DDR4-2133/2400. Does it mean that it can't support DDR4 at 3000MHz even if my motherboard does? (Gigabyte GA-Z270XP-SLI)

Solution
It means it will run at up to 3.8Ghz, typically on a single core, if temperature allows. You may be able to force the CPU to run all cores at 3.8Ghz using that motherboard.

i5-7500 can't really be overclocked, as its max multiplier will be 38x100Mhz. You may be able to change the BCLK or strap to get a higher frequency and overclock that way.

Maximum memory support with the i5-7500 will be DDR-2400.

If you really want to overclock, just pick up the i5-7600k, and then you can use any speed of memory with a little overclocking.

Solution

I'm not going to overclock anything, cause it's my first time building a pc. So basically it will always run at 3.8GHz and it only supports DDR4-2400. Right? Thanks for the help!!
