Straight gaming the i5 is stronger & capable of pushing higher fps pretty much all the time.
Bring streaming in & the smt on the ryzen levels the playing field completely.
The 8600k is a stronger cpu on a base level no doubt but heavy multithreading is the ryzens trump card.
Bear in mind those benches above that 8600k is running 4.9ghz - thats going to require a $60-70 cooler on top of the cpu price.
The 1600x will do 4ghz with a $25 212 evo or similar no issue at all.
The ryzen 1600 & the stock cooler is the best buy though easily , depending on cpu binning 3.8-4ghz is absolutely doable without spending money on aftermarket cooling. That makes it >$100 less than an 8600k & cooler.
