@Flayed
Well, you did wrote "...to mitigate against getting the worst grade silicon 3600 from the wafer which requires 1.5v to run stable", never talk about " a few posts" you read or saw in that one.
Anyways, in the begining it was all a mess. People getting higher vcore usage while on idle, people mistaking idle with opening tabs on a browser or watching youtube video (thats not idle), Ryzen cpus ramping up to max single core speed for using google or opening a folder, CPU cooler going up and down all the time, high temps, etc.
Basically like with every single new hardware launch (specially CPUs) for the new/first adopters. And the media (some of them) and the social networks didn't help, they only make things worst.
Once AMD and the Mohterboard vendors released the first Microcode, BIOS updates and Drivers thigns started to get on track and a month and half later it was all fixed.
AMD still working on a new AGESA update (1004), which motherboard vendors already have so a new BIOS update should be on the streets soon (Wonder what we will get from it?).
Avoid GSync. Get a FreeSync monitor. Nvidia has finally faced reality, and all their 10-, 16-, and 20- series GPUs support FreeSync now.
What resolution at 144Hz are you looking toward? I believe that the decision on the GPU and Monitor are inextricably tied together.
@NightHawkRMX Thanks for this - since I got swayed to go for the R5 3600, I need to redo my MB research now haha. The 3600x comes with a better cooler and is clocked slightly higher. Multiple reviewers have stated it is not worth the extra money over the 3600.
The best motherboards depend on your budget.
If the budget is low, an MSI B450 max motherboard will work out of the box.
If the budget is higher, i would go for an ASRock x570 phantom gaming 4 is a decent but lower end x570 board.
The max id spend on a board for a 3600 would be the gigabyte x570 aorus elite. Very good power delivery.
Avoid cheap MSI x570. Very poor power delivery and the cheaper asrock is better.
Those are the cheapest ones with wifi on PCpart picker.Ones I could find are like the Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) or the MSI MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI ATX, but wondering if there's a better/cheaper/more efficient one for the 3600 I'm getting.
It doesn't seem to be in the UK, so I would go with a board without wifi and add a card.@NightHawkRMX Thanks for this - since I got swayed to go for the R5 3600, I need to redo my MB research now haha.
I'd need WiFi, and I believe it's cheaper to get it on the MB than a separate adapter.
Are you comfortable with using the bios flash back feature? You may have to update the bios using it, in order to get your system to post. Other than that, you're good to go!Ahh right ok. Thanks! The rest of the components should all work well together right? Any comments?
I do agree with NightHawkRMX, been the Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS or TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) the better and cheapest option according to many reviews. The x570 a pro is a rather poor x570 mobo tho.

I am thinking the B550 must be released soon so would be a shame to buy a B450 just beforeAhh right ok. Thanks! The rest of the components should all work well together right? Any comments?

Next year hmm not sure I can wait that longYeah, that's my concern exactly! But most reports suggests it would only be available next year onwards... And I kind of wanna make sure of the RTX promo and get COD for free with it now, it ends soon.
@RodroX Yeah, the Asus TUF X570 was my second choice, crazy good reviews about it. Just went for the b450 max instead cause of the cost really, considering I'm only running a 3600, so not really a need to have the x570.
Apparently the MSI X570s are not great at all, the cheaper ones at least.
