Hi, I want to ask a question.
I want to buy a new laptop, but i am not sure whether or not the intel i71165g7's iris xe or the mx 350 is better.
Basically i don't play games, but i will do some light editing and productivity. So I want a good gpu.
I have seen that the iris xe has similar productivity performance as a mx350. Is this correct?
PS. there is also another option with an mx450, which is better than the iris xe even in productivity, but that model is more expensive (by 50$), and has 8 gb of ram instead of the 16 in the cheaper intel xe model. I thought that ram is more important and i should get 16 gb instead of what seems to be a 30% difference in gpu performance.
My main question is whether the mx350 or the intel iris xe is better when it comes down to productivity?

you are probably right about the cpu cores, but I need a thin and light so thats what i am stuck with and that is why i am ayt least getting an i7.
I bought the one with the xe and so far it is very good. As you said the cpu also ğ,is no great, so i did'nt need much graphics power anyways, since i wanted to edit 1080 p.
Anyways thanks for your support

Generally speaking: this Intels Xe igpu is as good as the mx350. But the mx350's driver is usually better optimised for games, but since u want it for productivity that dosent matter. Intels Xe igpu profits greatly from dual chanel RAM ( and i think the performance improves slightly with faster RAM). Only then can it keep up with the mx350. So if the model has single chanel RAM, i d take the mx350 model instead, for it offers better performance.

Also: take the cooling into account, especially with thin and light laptops. (like: 1 or 2 fans? how many heat pipes? how big & fast are these fans? But thats often difficult to find out)

the pc has dual channel 16 gb ram (8 and 8)
as i said i bought the pc with iris xe and it is fine until now, it doesn't thermal throttle much during long sessions, but the air from the fans do get hot, so maybe an mx350 would have throttled i don't know...
thanks for your reply
