i5 4xxx and 5xxx CPUs were designed for DDR3. You can find some motherboards for 6xxx i5's that have DDR3 slots but Intel has only officially rated them for using low voltage DDR3, and it's commonly believed that using regular DDR3 with a 6th generation i5 may damage it over time. I haven't seen any evidence either way, but here's a good cheap motherboard ($39 after rebate!) if you want to try using your DDR3 with a 6th generation CPU:

If you want to play it safe and go with a 4th or 5th generation i5, this would be a good choice for a motherboard...
