Hello. I am still a newbie and I am trying to find out some stuff about building my own desktop. So far, I am getting a Intel i7-7410K but I have some noob questions about it.

First, What does it mean if it only support 32GB max? Please tell me that i can still use a 250GB SSD from Samsung and a 500GB HHD from Seagate. I thought that the storage depends on what your motherboard can handle.

Second, what motherboard should i get? I kind of wanna draw the line for a motherboard around $100 but I can not go past $150

Thank you to everyone who helps. :)

P.S I am now aware that that processor doesn't exist.

RAM MODULES MAX CAPACITY TOTAL AMOUNT THE MOTHER BOARD WILL RECOGNIZE WITH OUT PROBLEMS.

YES, TO BOTH, THESE ARE LONG TERM STORAGE METHODS AKA LIBRARY VS. RAM WHICH IS SHORT TERM MEMORY, POWER GOES OUT RAM MEMORY IS WIPED CLEAN.

YOU HAVE TO GET A SOCKET AM4 MOTHERBOARD as this processor is an AMD Carrizo APU
Carrizo’s improvements, clarifying Carrizo-L
Carrizo is obviously a more significant upgrade over Kaveri than Carrizo-L is over Beema. The only difference between Beema and Carrizo-L on AMD’s roadmap is a platform change, from FT3 BGA to FP4 BGA. FP3 BGA was the equivalent of Socket FM2+ for notebooks; FP4 is presumably designed for the greater degree of power savings, integrated southbridge, and Carrizo’s other power-saving features.

Well, first off, there is no such thing as an Intel i7-7410K. The page you linked to is comparing the Intel i7-5500U to the AMD A8-7410. They are two different processors from two different manufacturers, and they're both laptop models, not meant for desktops.

If you want a k-model (overclockable) Intel i7 for your desktop, you'd want to go with an i7-6700k or an i7-4790k, depending on which is more important to you: the newest, fastest, most cutting-edge and upgradeable tech, or price and backward compatibility. If you aren't interested in overclocking, then you'd be fine with a non-k model, which are less expensive. If all you want to do is play games, surf the net and so on, you'd be fine with an i5, which is cheaper still.

As for the 32GB max, that's referring to the system RAM or volatile memory the processor can use. This is what the computer uses as temporary space in which to do its 'thinking,' and is a completely different thing from storage (your SSD and/or hard drive,) which is where the computer stores information long-term. A processor that is limited to 32GB of RAM, which is more than most people really need, can still use SSDs and hard drives with much larger capacities than that.

Which motherboard you need will depend on which processor you do wind up choosing.

What's your total budget for this PC?

My goal is to try and go no more than $1000 because $1000 will take me quite the amount of time to obtain.

I found out that you are right. it was a comparison between processors. Sorry,

Okay. What's the machine mainly going to be used for? Gaming, or video editing and rendering and such?
