Hello, I recently downloaded the Intel ME drivers from ASUS's website for my ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming AURA motherboard. For some reason, when I run the MEUpdateTool.EXE it gives me an error saying "Please check MEI driver is installed." What should I do?

Solution
Is this a new install? Windows Update will usually source a 'base' MEI driver.... you can check if you have it installed:
select Device Manager. Now find System Devices, expand it and see if Intel Management Engine Interface driver is listed there.

If it is, and it's just the update that's failing - people have reported success running it from an external drive (USB, external HDD etc) and ensuring your antivirus is disabled termporarily.

Can you not just update your chipset driver/package, which would appear to include the MEI?
Chipset
Version 11.7.0.1040
2017/11/0186.56 MBytes
Management Engine Interface
Improve system stability
