Question Intel NUC boot issue

Jun 19, 2018
I've purchased a D34010WYK i3 nuc which has a boot up issue.

The blue power light comes on for 8 seconds and then it powers off for 4 seconds. It then repeats that process over and over again.
Nothing appears on the screen.

I own 2 other NUC's so managed to swap some parts over that I know are working.

Here's what I've tried so far -

  • Installed working DDR3L ram - tested in both slots
  • Installed a working hard drive
  • swapped over a working cmos battery
  • Followed this guidance from Intel 'Unplug your Intel NUC from the AC outlet and wait for about 10 seconds. Press the power button on the front panel of your NUC a couple of times. When the Intel NUC is off, press and hold the power button for approximately 3 seconds, and then release'
  • Swapped over the power supply to one I know works
  • Followed these instructions for the security jumper. Removed the yellow jumper, attached the USB with bios and now the blue power light stays on. It's been like it for 20 minutes rather than the 2 - 5 mins suggested. Doesn't look like it's attempting to read the usb stick and nothing comes on the screen
Any suggestions?
