Intel pentium g3420 or Amd athlon x4 760k

Hi there, i am planning on building a budget gaming pc. Which cpu will be better for the latest games?
I will also be looking to upgrade in the near future, but at the moment i am only interested in an entry level system that will have playable frame rates. Also which cpu has a more promising upgrade path? is it worth getting the pentium just for the better CPUS down the line? I will be using a radeon 7770.

pentium's bigger "brothers" are way stronger than the x4 760k ones, but for your gpu the amd 4-core would be a very good choice. I would recommend the amd

Thanks, i was more or less thinking the same thing. Do yo have an idea of how long the athlon would last before i would need to upgrade?

I will be looking to play next gen games. Will the athlon be able to handle that with a possible gpu upgrade without a danger of bottlenecking?
