Intel pentium G4600 compatible with DDR3 ram?

my motherboard, biostar h110mhv3 had a bios update so support 7th gen processors, i already updated mine, but i'm unsure if the intel pentium g4600 supports my ddr3 ram, does it support the ddr3 module or do i need to buy a new mobo for the processor? i can't afford a new mobo atm so i can't really choose the latter

If you have the low voltage DDR3L, you should be fine.

Are you trying to use some old DDR3 you have? Is that what this is about?

I forgot. That board does not support DDR4. So DDR3 should work.

Technically(Intel specifications) the CPU only supports DDR3L. There are boards that allow the use of 1.5v DDR3 but Intel does not recommend it as the added voltage(DDR3L is 1.35v) could lead to problems with the memory controller down the road.

Interesting thing is that reminds me of Intel stating 1.5V was the "absolute max" for DDR4 [strike]on Intel chipset[/strike] XMP certifications.

Wouldn't the G4600 mem controller default to 1.35V? The DDR3 may not be stable at that low voltage, but the OP could try it out and see.

That's why I was asking what exact RAM OP has, it may be low CAS RAM capable of increasing timings to run stable at lower voltage. And I was also curious what CPU he was running now with his 1.5V DDR3 on his H110. That could be some revealing info. But OP doesn't seem to want to say, or maybe I'm confused in that he's not using the H110 right now.
