My brand new laptop can't seem to go over 100 mbps on wifi, is there any way I can bypass the cap?

What router do you have? Are you using 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz?

The connection speed is determined by the connection quality and type between you laptop and wifi router. The max spec for N is 150Mbps and for AC is 443Mbps, so you would need to connect to a router that offers that type of connection.
