Well if you really want to know who using 4P(+) systems......

I know, that question was directed to JF but couldn't resist my self. 😗

Any ways, yes, very welled played JF.

Although i wounder if an iphone could control another space craft to send you pizza while your on the moon. 😀 (as long as your not holding it wrong of course 😛)

You guys are killin' me...

I just can't get enough of that iPhone 4 antenna joke... I'd add the "can it play Crysis" one, but since the subject is monstrous in terms of raw power, it won't apply 😱

I have an old school iphone - 3G, not even 3Gs. There is a benefit in life of having a product that people must rush out and buy the day it launches - namely that the old technology is available cheap when the new stuff comes out. After 4 years with a blackberry it was a good transition. The battery life had me concerned, but being able to use it in japan over-rode the battery issue and I am a fan now. Just waiting for someone to want to get rid of their 32GB model so I don't need to carry a 120GB ipon on my trips as well 😉

JF I still have an old Motorolla brick phone in the shed ... go back a few years and imagine carrying one of those around.

I still love the BB ... the plebs can have their smartphones and the i-phone is a gimmick to me ... I want to, and I will ... press real buttons ... must have buttons ... or thought control.

On a completely different note ... hypothetically speaking ...

How well would one of those new Bulldozer CPU's go with a modified Graphics core from Llanos hanging off the side as an APU ... on the same die of course?

I'd imagine AMD could certainly do something like that quite easily given your new modularised approach to CPU design / scaling?

Monster number cruncher there.

http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/stream-technology/Pages/stream-technology.aspx

You could even sell the product to the intended market direct.

Rather than selling them a couple of specialised graphics cards just swap out your old CPU's in the racks for these shiny new ones?

From your site ...

Q: Which applications are best suited to Stream Computing?

A: Applications best suited to stream computing possess two fundamental characteristics:

1. A high degree of arithmetic computation per system memory fetch
2. Computational independence - arithmetic occurs on each processing unit without needing to be checked or verified by or with arithmetic occurring on any other processing unit.

Examples include:
* Engineering - fluid dynamics
* Mathematics - linear equations, matrix calculations
* Simulations - Monte Carlo, molecular modeling, etc.
* Financial - options pricing
* Biological - protein structure calculations
* Imaging - medical image processing

So we will have AM3+ (AM3r2 or whatever its called) for Llano and early bulldozer, and then a AM4 for maybe higher end bulldozer with IGP?

Nah AM4 for DDR4. But possibly they can put a plan to change BD w/APU to AM4 as well.

Well, BD out by mid 2011, DDR4 is suppose to be 2012, late 2011 early, so they might be able to squeeze it in...maybe with a die shrink to 22nm as well

DDR4 in 2012? I'll be in vegas twice in december. When I am in the sports books I'll see if I can place a bet on that one. I'll take the "over".

And I'd be willing to put down a big bet on that one.

I was going to refrain from saying this but I have a friend who works for AMD and he said bulldozer will match sandy bridge for the most part but will not overcome it. AMD is prepared to launch a price/performance model just like they did with the P2s.

That would be a pretty damn good performance jump over Phenom II.

I will wait and see.

Heh, last month I was driving my family along I-85 in NC, en route to Perdido Key FL, when my wife's cousin announced she had a craving for Popeye's Chicken for lunch. So her fiance who was along for the trip downloaded some Popeyes app on his iPhone 4 for locating the nearest restaurant based on our current GPS location. The AT&T 3GS service was so poor that it was midnight with us in Alabama before it finally located a restaurant. And no he wasn't holding it wrong either. Funny how we always seemed to be outside that "97% coverage" area that AT&T advertises, even in Atlanta..

Any official word on Fudzilla's article saying Llano delayed again until Q3 next year?

+1 about the llano question. Also, if phenom is BD, then llano would be athlon, correct? The lower middle end?

I don't comment on client. His last story about servers was wrong.

True ... is Theo still looking for that PC that punched out 30K 3DMarks ... the one that dissapeared from the boot of his car? Some of us here have long memories.

AMD need the fusion dually with the GPU hanging off it like right now ... they won't delay that core as it is critical business.

You can bet the guys in the bunny suits are chained together at the fab baking cakes 24/7 ...

I want frosted lemon icing on mine JF !!
