[SOLVED] Intel Scalable sockets

There appear to be two types of sockets for Xeon scalable the 3647 and the 3647 Narrow intel's page says nothing about this but when you got to amazon. You quickly notice the difference. I can't find mobos that have the 3647 do I have to get the tray version that fits the narrow socket? This is really confusing me.

They are both the same socket as the Xeon Gold 6230 is only offered using the 3647 socket:

Before buying it, you can get a faster AMD Threadripper system with similar core counts.
AMD is releasing the 64-core 3990X soon, there will be a 48-core 3980X too.
Or if you want something now ther's the 3970X with 32 cores.

Ryzen Threadripper will be faster than the Xeon Gold even if it has fewer cores.
