I'm starting to think that optane should REALLY be called hypetane. More smoke and mirrors. Did they show a real drive, NO.
Did they present real numbers, NO.

The drive has what appears to be black tape over the label. It may be a P4800X enterprise SSD in disguise, just to show a representation of what's to come.

Wow, Intel is really pathetic.

I don't understand the Intel hate on this one. They are the only company willing to bring high-performance storage to the consumer market. Maybe you guys don't get it. MLC is dead! Let's take what we know about Samsung V-NAND out and just look at IMFT and Toshiba / WD TLC. Your future consists of WD Black or Intel 600p performance.

For 90% of people both products and others like them are enough or more than enough. Many of us fall into the remaining 10% and want more. It doesn't have to be $1800 processor more but more than what TLC can provide!
