Ask any one on the street AMD or Intel, half the time people dont even know about AMD, advertisement is a lot in this business. Yes the top of the line Intel is much better AMD but are you willing to spend the extra $1300. I built a system that gets 10090 in 3DMark06 thats around $500. I can play many games on medium settings with high frame rates, vs JUST a processor that costs $1500 (almost 3 of my systems). Over all yes Intel is doing much better than its competitors but the i7 looks a lot like a AMD to me... (integrated memory controller, layer 3 cache). For a processor company with a very small corner to be making equivalent performance for price with a giant is impressive to me.
