The 6500 XT still gets 60+ fps in most games at 1080p/medium. And even if it had 8GB VRAM, it wouldn't be capable of 60+ fps at ultra settings (based on the 6500 XT performing the same as the 5500 XT 4GB, and the 5500 XT 8GB not being capable of 1080p ultra 60+ fps). At settings where the 6500 XT GPU is actually capable of ~60 fps, it looks like the lack of VRAM makes <10% difference. In other words, 4GB VRAM can still be enough to get by for 1080p gaming.Depends on your definition of fine. The RX6500 on 3.0x4 vs 4.0x4 shows that there is a pretty good number of recent games where 4GB just doesn't cut it unless you have somewhat decent access to system memory for asset streaming. It will only get much worse for 4GB cards from here.
4GB for new gaming cards is NFG beyond lightweight games.
Not that I'm recommending anyone buying a GPU today get a 6500 XT (or other 4GB GPU), unless it's dirt cheap and/or you're desperate.
