Perhaps if they hadn't been undercutting their prices so drastically the last few years trying to kill AMD they'd have more cash.

AMD has been trying to kill AMD for the last few years. You can't fault Intel for having the better lineup of products.

Intel did not post a loss for Q4 they were down 90% from Q3 but they still had a net profit of ~$240 million. Do a little bit of fact checking.

That is a VERY freaking good question... it appears that the government will have to step in somehow and tell these companies "Stop laying off workers, decrease executive compensation!" at some point in order to get them to do what they SHOULD be doing.
