I need a quick update on the current situation regarding Intel vs AMD for a budget general-purpose machine with an iGPU.
People asking me to build a budget machine with good gaming performance has always been the bane of my existence. Usually, they first describe their usage as word processing, browsing and the like. Then they casually mention as an afterthought that their 10-year-old will also want to do some gaming. Budget is usually somewhere around the equivalent of US$400.
The last time I was reasonably informed about hardware, AMD was significantly ahead in iGPU performance.
Has the situation changed?
TIA.
