Intel vs AMD? Please help!!!

I have an old laptop with the following specs:
Intel Pentium M CPU(1.5Ghz)
Ati Radeon Mobility 9600/9700 model

I am quite happy with it's performance for now(I only do light gaming; minecraft, starcraft(the original), Warcraft III & II, but i would like to play other, more hardware-intenstive games like starcraft II.
My question is: should I buy A laptop with An i5, and Intel Graphics, or a laptop with and ATI card and an AMD CPU?

Intel is commonly considered the best option out of the two,
but it's really up to your own preferences.
Personally, I'd say go with Intel.

You will want a Laptop with an Intel CPU & either an AMD or Nvidia gaming GPU, if gaming is your target. The only exception would be if that Intel had an Iris Pro IGP, but those are expensive.

I would as well, but through experience I know that ATI GPU's are a lot more powerful than Intel's and they are rarely together. Thank you anyhow.

I completely agree with you, but finding a laptop with an Intel CPU and an ATI GPU isn't easy. Plus, I am on a bugdet of no more than £400. Do es anyone know any good places?

Does it have to be a laptop? That budget is not going to net you a gaming laptop, but you could build a gaming PC for that.
