Ok so I haven’t done a build in about 5-6 years and have been hearing how much better AMD is now for a better price. My girlfriend streams and does school work on the pc while I mostly game playing Victoria 2 or one of the Total War games old and new So here’s my question- which would be better for me mostly gaming and some streaming? Trying to keep my budget around $1200 but no more than $1500.

Solution
AMD builds are a lot more budget friendly and can free up some wallet money to put into other components. They perform fairly close to their more expensive INTEL counter parts, but yeah, still fall behind a few frames here and there (it would depend on core utilization, more cores, less gap. but even at that, a 3600 chip from AMD is still pretty amazing little thing --- to put it simply--- ). At the end of the day, I personally would rather put that money in a better GPU rather than buying an expensive motherboard and paying premium for a CPU that can produce a few more frames.

In my opinoin if you are tight on budget, you should go for AMD. Like the comment above said, AMD perform better at the same price point and to be honest, you lost just a few frames you can't even notice.
