So I was looking through on building a new pc since my Laptop and PC are both lacking power for using programs like Zbrush, Maya, Blender, Video editing and rendering, they are far slower then my friend when it comes to modeling and game development.

My specs for my laptop
i5 4200m
intel hd 4600
16gb ram
1tb hdd

PC specs
Intel i7 870
Gtx 760
10gb ram
1tb hd 7400rpm
150 gb hd 10,000rpm
256gb ssd
psu 750w corsair.

I will overclock the i7 since it is starting to lack behind in gaming, possibly even upgrade the 760 to a 980 ti but I was wandering on how good the Intel Xeon 2670 is good for the programs I use, like Zbursh, Sony vegas, Photoshop, Adobe, Maya, Unity, Unreal Engine, Amazon Lumberyard. These are the main one I usually focus on.

The setup I was looking forward to building was
2x Intel Xeon 2670 16core (32 threads) 2.6ghz 20mb cache ( I don't plan on oc the 16core cpu because of its 3.3ghz turbo should be enough)
64gb ddr3 ram 1600hz G.skill
Supermicro Server Motherboard X9DR3-LN4F+ I/O
Gtx 980ti
psu 1000w
4tb hdd
1tb ssd
3 monitors 1080p resolution

Solution
i run dual xeon e5 2670s and they work pretty great for just about everything i do on them. they will also do quite a bit better then your 870 on everything includeing single core tasks
