True dat. I am curios if it really is HIM, not the one you mention but
the one he claims to be.

It could be. The attitude is about right. I've been wondering whether
or not to answer his question to me. Obviously without being too
specific.

Dazza.

Doesn't stop them from trying. In the past they've sued companies who've
made legal things that got used illegally. 3-2-1 XDVD Copy, Napster,
Kazaa, various ROM dumping devices, Sony early on for the Beta, etc.

Well, there are a large percentage of morons. Never underestimate the
power of stupid people.

There's a difference between burners, who charge little more than the cost
of materials, and people selling these DVDs for *profit*. Which kind did
you get yours from?

It's not who you think it is (if I'm double-guessing you correctly :), it's
this guy here:
http://www.mame.net/cgi-bin/wwwthreads/showpost.pl?Board=mamegeneral&Number=178354
(long thread, but very illuminating)

-an eminent journalist if we believe his self-important prattle. Seems more
like a textbook prick to me.

Interestingly enough on the MAME.net thread he claims not to be trolling,
but in his posts here he really shows his true colours.

Thanks for the link.

Well, it looks like he's certainly been coherent enough to elicit
replies, yet continuously contrary and antagonistic. A pretty good
troller overall, but they all implode eventually in the end...

(and now, with that unpleasant mental picture...ugh...)

I, for one, will happily explain a big one.

Now consider for a moment that there are considerable expenses
involved in dumping PCB's to make all these roms available in
the first place, both in purchasing the PCB's as well as the
specialized equipment required to dump them.

Then consider how pissed off and less likely Dumping Project
donators are going to be in forking over their cash just to
watch sleezy jackasses turn around and make a buck off of them.

Think damnit, think.

Sigh. Do any of you actually know what a "troll" is? Or does it just make
you feel l33t to use the word?

All I am is a mirror. Behave in a civilised way and you'll get a civilised
response. If you act like a wise and beautiful woman, you'll get treated like a wise and beautiful woman.

The fact that you do not know who they are says alot about the level of
knowledge you have on the subject.

Thanks. Now we can add plagiarism to the list of reasons you shouldn't
be a journalist. To sum that list up:

1) You are incompetent.
2) You are a wise and beautiful woman.
3) You steal other people's lines lacking the facilities to come up
with your own.

I'm sure the list will grow as you continue to post here, so don't be
shy!

It's a mystery to me why any of you anonymous nobodies would imagine I give
a tramp's cock what you think of my level of knowledge of the subject I've
been writing professionally about for 15 years, and have written more about
than anyone on the face of the entire planet. But hey, whatever gets you
hard.

Still waiting for answers to all of my perfectly polite and reasonable
questions.

Indeed, quantity is the only thing you've got going for you, boy.

You all show a remarkable ability to predict the feelings and reactions of
people who aren't you. I've heard plenty "might"s in this argument, and not
a single "actually has", which is what I asked for.

You want a has? What about when Ultracade (a commercial Arcade
manufacturor) tried getting a trademark filed on the term "MAME" so they
could go around suing ROM sellers? Even though MAMEdev stopped them,
Ultracade still has continued trying to stop various MAME related items,
even on things as benign as a Marquee for cabinets.
