Intermittent Request Timed out when pinging router

For the past couple months I have been getting very small lag spikes every min or two, which is only really noticeable when playing games, but highly annoying.

I ended up running a ping t- 8.8.8.8 and saw I was getting a request timed out whenever one of these spikes was happening. Eventually I tried just pinging my router and saw the same thing happening. I narrowed it down to just this PC by pinging my router with two other PCs in this exact location with the same network adapter and had zero problems.

Here is a screenshot of what I see with ping -t 192.168.1.1

I have tried ipconfig /release, ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /renew, and netsh int ip reset. I have also tried diasabling my firewall completely and ran malware bytes to check for any viruses. There are no settings on my router specific to this physical address.

All the other PCs connected to the same router have no issues at all. I am dumbfounded as to why this is happening.

You have few options maybe you uninstall and reinstall the drivers. This is the problem with wireless there are so many things that can cause interference and they can be tiny. The PC are likely slightly different even if you use the same adapter.
Its not like you can change the metal the case is made out of if it reflects the signal a little different.

When you try the limited option you are stuck living with the problem. Again this is why you are not suppose to play games on wireless. It is only games that are affected by tiny outages like you see. You will not even notice them doing pretty much anything else.

No, but I did notice in the MSI Live Update thing there is an option to install "Killer Network Drivers" for my Z170A Gaming M5. I feel like that would be a separate thing completely from my Linksys AE3000 Network adapter, but maybe it is worth a shot downloading that.

edit: Installing that changed nothing, so I removed it

That is exactly what I was talking about. Just a quick look at your motherboard show some MSI gaming lan thing as well as it has the killer ethernet chips.

To avoid a long explanation I will just say all that stuff is mostly a marketing gimmick.

There are massive number of posts about strange problems you see when you have any of this junk enabled. It is so bad that killer actually has a driver that removes all the killer features.

Try using the chipset driver that does not have the killer features and uninstall all the MSI lan manager junk if you can. I suspect it is just a variation of the killer manager software.

........as a added comment I hope you are not using the wireless card you see all kinds of strange issues using wireless due to interference.

I normally just install the bare bones anyway, I am aware how crappy all these extra features are. It appears the Killer Network Driver is just the mandatory driver for the Ethernet port. That is why I thought it would be irrelevant considering I am using a network adapter as I already specified. A wired connection is not an option for me.

I was already pretty much devoid of any extra crap on this PC that is not completely necessary and I continued to uninstall anything I could find that I don't absolutely need and nothing has changed.

I see since you posted in this forum rather than the wireless I assumed you were using wired.

Still even if you had the response is the same. That is just how wireless works sometimes. It may not even be your machine or router causing the issue. It could be your neighbor or cordless phone or many other things.

This is why you see everyone say you always play online games on ethernet. It is a known issue that can't really be fixed. You only options are to change radio channels in the router and hope to avoid it but it may work for a 5 minutes or week before you see new problems. Wireless usage is massively over crowded and everyone is stomping on each other.

Pretty much it works fine for everyone except those who try to play interactive games.

Didn't realize there was a wireless forum, I will try there. But as I said I have tried from this exact location with the same adapter on different PCs with only this PC having the problems.
