[SOLVED] Internal HDD from other computer not recognized as external on another computer

My current desktop failed to boot, so I pulled out internal HDD and put in an external enclosure and plugged into my other desktop via USB. When I turn on external enclosure the HDD is recognized in Device Manager and displays, but nothing is displayed in file explorer. Then after about 30 seconds the external HDD disappears from Device Manger. Then it will reappear and finally disappear and get message that USB device malfunctioned. Just trying to get some files from the HDD.

HDD = Seagate SATA Desktop
Both computers running Windows 10 64-bit

Sounds like the HDD is failing. I hope the files are critical. This is the situation why backups are recommended.

Thanks Scottray. I've used this as a learning experience for the other users of this home computer that failed to backup their files
