[SOLVED] Internal HDD keeps momentarily disconnecting

I have 3 internal HDDs and an SSD, all connected to SATA3 ports on my ASRock Extreme6 Z77 MOBO. One of the HDDs seems to lose connection, then immediately reconnect. This is annoying because it has Dropbox server on there and stalls DB sync, meaning I have to pause-unpause DB to restart syncing properly after the HDD disconnects.

This started happening (I think) when I added the 4th HDD to the system, which makes me think it's a power issue. Does it sound like that? Would it behave in this way?

It disconnects during inactive and active use, seems like it does it every hour or 2.

Make sure your hard disks are set to never turn off in the Advanced settings of the "Power Options".

Ahh! Could well be this. Turned it off, will monitor it now. Why do you think it was just the 1 HDD that was flicking off?

Your HDD momentarily disconnecting is likely the time the disk needs to restart and get back to it's normal operating RPM. Windows has to wait on the HDD to respond, so it seems to freeze.
