I'm having no end of difficulty with this tablet and storage problems. We got the tablet as a "freebie" when you add a line to a plan. I've never had an android mobile device before, but I pretty much expected some intuitive menus and a decent OS. Initially, I thought I was right. Simple, worked easily, menus weren't difficult to navigate, easy setup.
Then came installing apps. This devices REFUSES all attempts to discern any possible way to direct the use of additional storage (in this case, a 64GB SD card). I can't direct apps to be installed on in. I can't direct the photo default save location to be the SD card, same for videos, downloads, or seemingly anything else. Of course after installing apps and taking some pictures, the device is instantly "full" because it only has 16GB of internal storage.
The device DOES use the SD card. The SD card is formatted as internal storage. I have removed it, deleted partitions, and reformatted it for internal storage again with a system restart. No luck.
It does not show up as an option in the pre-installed google file manager. I can't move photos in the internal storage to the SD card. I can't access internal storage photos from a PC to download them and clear space to install an alternative file manager, only photos on the SD card.
Nowhere on the photo browser or camera app does it allow me to move the photos to the SD card or make a folder on the SD card.
There is no way to select for an app to be moved to or installed on the SD card.
I get it, the device isn't the best performer out there, but OTOH, it's basically unusable in its present state because it prevents use of wifi, cellular, or installation of any app that might assist in moving files because the internal storage is full while preventing you from using 50GB of free space. I've never encountered such logic!
Any assistance would really be appreciated...
