Internet browsers won't download any medium to big files?

Hi. Recently, I've been having problems, and it's not just for my computer but all the computers/laptops connected to my home network, whether it be via wirelessly or wired LAN.
While the internet works mostly fine and I can browse the usual websites fine, downloading files that are of medium or large size will not ever download from any browser. The estimated time length for downloading starts normally from a couple minutes or so, but it keeps getting lengthier to hours and eventually, days, until the download just stops and there's no estimated download time placed next to it's size progress. I've tried resetting my router and refreshing the signal, but that didn't do anything. At this point i'm unsure what to really do.
However, the wired connection that the computer directly from the router uses seems to be fighting the speeds for downloading as it does has about 1gbps for it's connection. Still, download time isn't working well for it.

Does it do this when you plug directly into your modem?
What is your ping like when downloading?

Another good test would be to take your laptop somewhere else, like someone else's network, and attempt to download the files. If it works there, then it is highly likely to be something at home or related to your ISP.

You may need to bring this up with your ISP if you still get the issue when plugged directly into the modem.

Lateish reply, but for some reason it seemed to have went away. I assume it must have been a problem with the ISP for a while.
