When I reboot my Windows 10 client everything appears to be working correctly. I can browse websites, use Viber and WhatsApp without any issues that I am aware of. After an indeterminate period of time when I come back to the machine I notice that there is no connectivity. The only way that I have been able to restore service is a reboot.

The system board is a ga-h81m-ds2v_e which includes a Realtek GvE LAN chip. I have downloaded the latest (still rather old) driver from Realtek and updated the device driver for the LAN card using Device Manage but the problem persists.

Has anyone any familiarity with this problem or ideas of how I might address resolving it?

Edition: Windows 10 Pro
Version: 1909
OS Build: 18363.592

8 Gig RAM.

Thanks in Advance,
Ian

Go to Device Manager and right click on the LAN device, go to Properties -> Power Management tab and clear the "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power" it should do the trick.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I tried that and the problem persists.

Now considering a new motherboard (with a different Ethernet) then swapping the components over. GPU, Disks, CPU, Memory. etc.

Hopefully the Microsoft kernel Gods won't insist upon a full reinstall.

Smoke me a kipper!
