My desktop cannot connect to the internet. The internet works on all my other devices. I have an wrhwrnet canle pluged into the back of it, green lights and everything. The trouble shooter tells me "windows can't communicate with the device or resource (primary dns server). I have tried to reinstall the network driver along with reseting everything.

Okay a couple of things to try. Open Network and Sharing again, and click on the connection listed (should be something like Local Area Connection 1 or such), select Diagnose and see if Windows finds any issues. If that shows nothing, click it again and select Properties, then click on first Internet Protocol Version 4 (and when done with that one then Version 6) and click Properties and make certain that Obtain DNS Server Address Automatically is selected, if it's not, write down the address shown and compare that to the DNS settings for your router, if those don't match, change the one on the PC to match the router. Here's a short guide to changing DNS addresses if needed-
