Question Internet connectivity issues with my modem

I am using D-link 2730U modem. I am unable to connect to internet. I could see red light on the internet. I tried resetting the modem, but the issue still persists. When I switch on the modem Power light is red for a few seconds before going off. DSL light is not even flashing. Wifi is ON. Guess it's not line problem because my landline is working fine.
Tried the following.
  1. Resetting the modem to factory settings.
  2. Checked for any loose connections.
  3. I am using a splitter to split connections between my modem and landline. Landline is working fine. So I tried connecting the cable to the modem without using the splitter. No change.
