There’s an issue cropping up where my internet will sometimes cut out for around 10-30 seconds, at times randomly, but usually it happens when I open a web-page, or shortly after booting up a game, especially multiplayer games.

I’m connected via a CAT6e ethernet cable and as far as I can tell, when my connection cuts out it’s just my ethernet connection. My internet still shows up as an option on wifi. Not sure what to make of this, but if I can provide any other info please let me know.

I guess it could be a bad ethernet cable that loses more traffic as load increases but I bet it is something else.

I would start with the event viewer and see if it is detecting any issues at the exact time you see the problem. Something like a ethernet port going down would be logged.

Next I would open a cmd window and let a constant ping run to your router IP. This will test is there is a problem with the cable and the basic networking in your machine.

Next do the same with a common IP like 8.8.8.8. If this one drops but your router IP is good then it is more likely your actual internet connection is going down. If this is also good then it is going to be something more complex.
