So, recently my computer has been disconnecting from the internet at random times throughout the day. But no matter what. Even if I unplug the router, change connections and reset the modem it still doesn't work. I have to completely power down my PC to get it to work again. The WiFi works great. My smart phone still connects just fine. It's just the Ethernet to my computer. It still acts like it's connected too. When I try to direct myself anywhere on Googlechrome it just instantly says "ERR connection failed" with the little picture of the sad face file. And all my apps that are open say things like "spontaneous disconnection from server". I am with Xfinity and the way my house's internet is set up we have the main modem in the living room and then we have a huge Ethernet cable run along the wall connected to the small Asus router I have in my office and from the Asus router I have multiple Ethernet connections running to various things. But it's ONLY my computer that loses connection sometimes. All the other things connected to the Asus router run just fine. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the internet drivers on my PC
(I have Windows 10) but it still does it. It feels like I've tried everything and nothing seems to work. When the internet is working it runs fine, it's not slow or anything. It just a randomly decides it doesn't want to connect anymore until I restart. Help?

Solution
From reading your troubles and how you describe everything, it only points to two possible things, your cat5 cable or your network card.
I would Goto bios, turn off the Internal Network card, get a new network card (they runs like 15$ now a days) put it in, reboot pc and install drivers if windows doesn't, of course connect your cable to the new network card, and see if the issue continues.

Nothing. I don't see anything that would point to any auto "green" settings. Everything checks out in the driver menu. It says it is running fine and everything. I've checked for updates and reinstalled multiple times and nothing seems to work. The thing that confuses me is the fact that it works some times and then others it just dies out of the blue and refuses to connect again

Yeah. That might be what I have to do.
I've (of course) been looking things up about this and online it said it could be some sort of virus, maybe? I just recently got a new harddrive it's in the mail and on the way. I figured I would just start fresh just in case it is some kind of malware that's effecting it. But it just doesn't "feel" like a virus though. Everything runs just fine, then just randomly it disconnects and I have to restart my PC to get it to work again. Either way. I'll be starting completely fresh with this new harddrive just in case.
I'll keep everyone here posted. It's funny because I've seen a couple other posts that state the same problems just like me. But nobody has any concrete answer on how to fix it. Anyways, I appreciate the reply. I'll let you know how everything turns out.
