Internet disconnects when phone used.

Hey, I've been having problems where my modem disconnects from the internet when my home phone is used.
They are both plugged into the master socket which is split so it has a socket for the modem and for the phone. I've tried putting a filter on both lines but it still disconnects.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Do you have a dial-up modem or an ADSL modem?

You need a DSL filter only on the phone line. Plug the modem as close to the incoming cable as possible.
