Internet doesn't work on different cable outlets?

So when i plug my router cable to the outlet in my living room internet works fine. BUT when i bring it over to my room and plug it in internet doesn't work! Any idea whats wrong?

Does the phone line work? Test it before plugging it in.

Did you put the line filter back on the phone line?

Then it should all work. Just check if you've plugged everything in right per the router manual.

i plugged in the cable connected to my router, turned on my router, plugged my Ethernet from the router to my laptop, router works fine but internet doesn't work.....

OK so its just your laptop? And you're using an ethernet cable from the router to your laptop? And your router does have internet?

Check in Control Panel, Device manager, Network Devices that your ethernet controller is working.

no its not my laptop, my router turns on but there's no internet from my router

Maybe your router is faulty or just needs setting up. Check it's manual.

So there is an RJ-45 port in the living room. And the PC works fine connected to that.
Move the PC to a different room with an RJ-45 port and it doesn't work.

That would suggest a wiring issue in the walls.
