Hello everyone and thanks for reading into my problem.
Here's the issue in detail: I have a 60mbps down and 10 mbps up fibre optics connection, with a ZTE F660 router provided by the IP. Recently, I noticed my downloads were much slower than before, most prominently in Steam where I have a server mere kilometers from where I live. So as usual, I went to SpeedTest and the results were bad (14mbps). Weirdly, upload was 10mbps, so that's fine.
First, I thought it was my ethernet cable, which is very long due to the layout of my house. So I tested the speed on other PC hooked with the cable that was included with the router. Results were OK. Afterwards, I moved my PC near the router and hooked the original cable. And incredibly, I got the same results (14-15mbps). As a side note, Wi-Fi speed is also fine.
What's odd is not only that the speed is so slow, but the way it slows down. I recorded a recent speedtest so you can see how it shoots to near 60mbps and progressively slows to 14mbps as if it was being capped: https://streamable.com/36e6s
I'm now suspecting of my own adapter. Drivers are up to date and I would think that if the adapter was failing I should have no connection at all. I'm kinda lost now so any expertise will be incredibly appreciated.
My system is as follows: Intel i5-4590, Kingston HyperX Savage 2x8gb, MSI GTX 970 4G and most importantly, MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard.
Again, thanks very much for reading and your help!
