Hello.
My internet has suddenly dropped form 800-1000 Mbps (download speed*) to 100-250 Mbps (download speed*) last week just on my PC and didn't do anything. I didn't download anything , didn't change a setting or a component.
I have a wired connection from the router and a Network card.
There are 0-3 phones and 2 laptops connected on Wi-fi but i don't think that matters because it was the same before the problem occurred. Also they work perfectly.
As I said before, I can barely get 250 Mbps (download speed*).I don't believe I have viruses as i scanned everything twice and checked for malware problems and nothing showed up and i don't think my cables / ports / Network card are the issue because i never touch the back of my PC and my dad has tried all the cables on his laptop and he got 900 Mbps download speed. Even on the other laptop on a wireless connection I managed to get 400-500 Mbps download speed (with all those devices running on the same router) so it's obviously not my Internet Provider.
Also, I want to say that this exact problem happened to me last March. I went to 2 PC services , reinstalled my Windows 2 times, got a new Network Card but nothing helped. It resolved itself in 1 week.
I've read many threads but none of their resolves worked. I had seen a guy saying his same problem was resolved by itself in 2 weeks. I had also seen people saying that AMD programs were affecting their speed but i don't have an AMD. That led me to thinking that i have some program that has an impact on my internet speed so i searched and i found a Network Adaptor in my device manager : Killer E2400 Gigabit Ethernet Controller and an app that i guess works with that (Killer Network Manager). In the app you can update the speed for some settings but whenever i try to it gives me this massage : "The Bandwidth test was not able to accurately measure your internet speed. Please check the Internet speed with your provider ot tun the test again".
All the drivers are updated and i run Windows 10.
PC specs:
Source: Corsair 650W, Builder Series - CS650M, 80+ Gold certified
Motherboard: MSI LGA1151, B150 M3 Gaming
Video Card: GTX 960
Processor: Intel Core i5-6400
*download speed on Ookla's speed test
P.S: I would love something that will permanently resolve this as i don't want it ever happening again.
Update: This problem started on Sunday (Feb 25th). The next Sunday (March 4th) at about 5 p.m. the problem solved itself until the next day. So the following Monday (March 5th) the issue happened again.
