Internet Problem on PC

Hello all I am facing a weird problem with y pc, first of all my ISB supplies the line via a cat5e cable which plugs into a available rj45 port, so when i plug in the cable directly to my PC's lan port and configure the ip's it shows "Request timed out" while pinging but when I plug it via my wifi router(TP-link WR841N) to my pc it works flawlessly. So can anyone solve this problem for me.

Computer setup:
Cpu:AMD FX 6300
Cooler: Deepcool Gammaxx 300
GPU:Sapphire R7 260x 2GB GDDR5
RAM:1x4gb Hyperx Fury + 2x 2gb Kingston Memory all at 1333mhz
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Rev 6.0
HDD: 500Gb WD Black 7200RPM
PSU: CX430 80+ Bronze

Solution
When you plug the cable directly into the back of the PC, you'll need to reboot. If this doesn't solve it, you might need to go into your adapter settings and make sure the IPV4 settings are set to "Automatically obtain IP address".
