Internet slows when downloading

Hey everyone,
Have been dealing with a problem for a while,it concerns my internet speed when downloading. Basically when I use Steam or Uplay for instance to download a game it uses 10% of my bandwith (around 7.5mbps for 75mbps) I am aware this is normal for any download however if I try to browse using chrome or search on the store it does not load- surely if the download is only using 10% of my total speed I should be able to have normal browsing speed whilst downloading?

Is your speed from your ISP megabytes or bits? If it is 75megaBITS, then 7megaBYTES/sec is normal, so it is not technically 10% of your speed.

it will load i have 10mbps and only average 1.4mbps download speed and mines loads up it takes a bit of time not over few minutes. im currently downloading 2 games here now and im still able to browse you can tell by dividing 75 by 8 this will give you your download speed its give you 9.375mbps

Same problem for me too, always wondered why my Internet is basically unusable while downloading something, but only on that device (the desktop) other devices work fine on the same wifi while the desktop is downloading

are you guys downloading things to a slow storage device such as an SD Card? I posted a similar post to slow steam downloads and I found out my speeds were slow because the speed of the SD card couldn't keep up with the download speed so the speeds were slow

it also depend on your broadband speeds example 10Mbps package which is about 1.4Mbps download speed 30Mbps download speed is 3.75Mbps. if your fiber then downloads should be about 6-7Mbps
