Hi, so I've been having this problem for around 6 months and it's really annoying. Every few minutes my internet sort of stalls for around 5 seconds, online games will freeze and then catch up everything that happened after it becomes unfrozen, but I will not be disconnected from the game. It happens in chrome as well, and any application that uses the internet. I'm using a wired connection, although this happens on every computer in the house whether it's wired or wireless. I have gotten a new router and that did not fix it. This is really frustrating and if anyone can help me that would be greatly appreciated.

yes, I can say open a new chrome browser during the stall but it wont load the page until the stall has stopped.

can you open something not internet related? like paint for example

yes

ok, lets try the continuous ping test to help us figure out whats going on.
open 2 command prompt windows.
in the first window run the following command ping 8.8.8.8 -t
keep the window open, you can minimize is if you want, when the stall occurs watch for dropped packets.

in the second window run ipconfig and make a note of your default gateway.
then run ping default gateway IP -t for example if your default gateway is 192.168.1.1 then the command will be ping 192.168.1.1 -t
again keep the window open, you can minimize is if you want, when the stall occurs watch for dropped packets.

you can interrupt the ping tests by pressing ctrl+c, this will display statistics at the bottom of the screen

let us know the results

I've done that in the past with my gateway ip and when the stall happens it just says request timed out and then the next line it goes back to pinging it, I'll see what it says when I ping the 8.8.8.8 one and let you know.

if your gateway drops packets than 8.8.8.8 should drop packets as well. this indicates a problem with your local network. since it affects all computers in the house and you have replaced the router the only thing left to blame is your modem, or the ISP (if they own the modem).

yeah im worried there's nothing i can do on my end, i've opened a ticket with my ISP and hopefully they'll respond, or ill just call them
