Internet won't work on my phone when I change the obtaining of IP address from automatic to manual

Hello, I recently got cable internet and I bought a router from a store. When I installed everything the Internet wouldn't work on my pc, but it would on my phone. Then I looked into the FAQ and saw that the solution for this is to go to Network Connections in Control Panel and put a specific IP address which was given to me. Now, when I've done that, the internet won't work on my phone, it just won't connect, but it does on my PC. People from the cable internet company won't help me because router is not theirs, and the people from the store don't know what might be the problem

any chance of telling us which router... and which ISP?
and what IP you were told to out where exactly?

It's just a reuglar router TL-WR741ND and ISP is Telemark, but I don't see how this both matters

That's why you don't have a clue how to solve your problem...
and you didn't answer what IP you were told to put where..

Are you trying to use the same IP address on both the computer and the phone? That's never going to work; each needs a unique address.
