Interrupt Steering - Looking for complete tutorial

Hi -
I am seeking a complete, in-depth, tutorial on the ins and outs of PCI interrupt steering. I see a number of tutorials on the internet but they are lacking in detail. Any help you might offer would be appreciated. I am attempting to firmware patch an old Win 2000 machine that has PCI issues and I need a better understanding of IRQ steering than the tutorials that I have run across could provide.
