The glue was no surprise at all, it was shown in the manufacturing video at WWDC. I am glad for the battery, it looks like it will be much better than the 3GS. I am excited to see what Apps start to come out for these powerhouse phones like the Droid X and Incredible, too!
I wander how hard it would be to solder memory in and out?
[citation][nom]banthracis[/nom]It only happened 2 months ago, and sparked a controversy that made international headlines...http://gizmodo.com/5520876/the-next-iphone-dissectedhttp://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/20/ [...] odo&st=csehttp://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/27/ [...] odo&st=cseoh and some asian site also did an even more extensive dissection of another "lost" phone a few week later.[/citation]
That was a prototype phone for one ... and for two ... I learned more from this teardown than the Giz. More informative and iFixit gives full manuals for self repairs.
Not much to the eye then again its a phone which is all that Apple makes these days on it own efforts except for the poor souls who toil day and night for Mr Jobs the Robber Barron.
[citation][nom]chickenhoagie[/nom]battery is fairly easy to replace afterall[/citation]
Yeah just two screws to take out. Oh and you have to order and wait for a battery to arrive. I just pop the back of my phone off and put a new one in. I wish it was as harder to do, Like the iphone. Then I might feel like I accomplished something.
[citation][nom]aleh1811[/nom]I missread the first part of the title as a woman's name.I felt intrigued about myself for the reaction i had to it.[/citation]
[citation][nom]sliem[/nom]You'd like to see a woman torn apart and photographed?[/citation]
wow!!! O-M-G!....you take a screwdriver and then....and then you do this.... and then..... and then you take plastic tool and take out dur dur dur da chips......and then....and then your phone doesn't work...and then....[/sarcasm]
The miniaturization these days is absolutely amazing. 1 Ghz CPU, 512 MB of RAM, and hardware 3D acceleration. It wasn't that long ago that my expensive desktop gaming PC had those same specs. Around 2003 IIRC. Ah, the steady forward march of technology.
Yeah, nice to know that its easier to take apart so we can change the battery..... eventually.... otherwise im hoping the microsoft Zune phone will be a TRUE competitor in terms of Mobile OS, apps, traits, and other software
"Gorilla Glass, a chemically strengthened alkali-aluminosilicate thin sheet glass that is reported to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic"
That's a little redundant. Obviously ANY glass is stiffer and harder than plastic. But how does Gorilla Glass compare to Ordinary Glass?
