Of course. When the average apple user mocks windows blue screens. It's amazing how I've never had a random blue screen ever. I've been through Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP, and 7. Not a single blue screen that wasn't a result of iffy hardware. Which you cannot blame Microsoft for.

Nexus phones. They're the only Android phones available ATM.

The rest are Android-Based, but I would not really expect you to understand the difference...
If iOS was open, other manufacturers could try their luck in making iOS-Based phones, and you'd see the same. Some better than Apple's iPhones, some worse. At least you'd have a choice in the iOS world. For now, it's a one-man town.
As for the perfection you've just stated... the latest iOS release is a testament; between failed proprietary apps (iMaps being a prime example, among others) and OS instability, pick your poison.
Oh, it's very easy to claim the latest updates for older models when you dilute the actual updates down to the basic homescreen interface and the OS version in the 'about' section. FYI, anyone can do that with a simple edit of a file in Android-based systems... I can make my phone show I have Android version 10.1 if I want to. LOL

Bottom line is, it has been proven that Apple's farts stink, like anyone else's. It's just that butthurt is too much to bear for some people here on the forums.

Wow, that's too bad. The Iphone 5s crash rate is now up to 2%. :-(

The good thing is that's only 1/50th of the rate of the Android crash rate. 🙂

Nice, big, rounded-up numbers you got there. I hope it didn't hurt too bad when you pulled them out.

Yea, BSOD on a smartphone is kind of hilarious. Every phone has issues - some are hardware based, some are software based, some don't interface well between the hardware and OS. As an IT professional, I spend all day on computers so I want my phone to just work. I think my iPhone5 has been the least glitchy of my gadgets from any platform. Kinda glad I skipped this gen

Oooo.. you know how to do 3rd grade math and came up with the answer - 100% of Android devices crash. That's actually been my experience but maybe I'm not the typical light-weight user like perhaps some are.

In reference to the guy who gave mommy the iPhone 4:

Who is to say they won't drop support for them in the next iOS? Apple isn't exactly a saint when it comes to legacy support. Their iPhone 3 support dropped a couple years ago, and the iPhone 4 is getting pretty close to its end. Android-based devices may not get that much support, but their consumers are also more willing to update their devices everytime the contract runs out. As for Apple, there is a slew of people who wait for that "$99 deal" on previous iPhones before upgrading.

Androids may have more crap/bloatware than an iPhone, but the Android is also an open market. The app ratio is probably 50:1 versus the Apple Market. Almost all of the IT gurus I know jailbreak their Apple devices because they are never happy in the locked environment. With Android however, some people are comfortable with the out of box package, others jailbreak them just to get that extra feature or two.

My dad, who has only used an iPhone since he started using smartphones, kept touting about how the iPhone was sooo cool, until I got my Droid Razr. Can his phone connect to our wireless printer? No, not without downloading software. The Razr was able to do it out of the box. Battery life? My dad had to get the damn Mophie to even get his phone to last a day. He even complains, like most others, how shitty the iOS7 is compared to iOS6. He would rather downgrade, or even switch to an Android than to deal with anymore iPhone bs.

You're right, you're not the typical user. Sounds more like the incompetent user, LOL.

BTW, unless you have tried absolutely ALL the Android-based devices available on the market (or you can point to a proper study that did that) I still have to call BS on these numbers of yours. Like I said, hope it was pain-free....
mkay?

Oh, you're sooo smart... I can crash Android because I'm *incompetent*. Oh, now THAT's funny! So you have to be competent to not crash your Android device. That's such a great explanation, genius.

Dude, it doesn't take a genius to see that you're still dancing around the topic of providing the actual source of your statistical data. What happened to that?
Instead you cling to some jokingly made statement (the LOL behind it might have given you a clue...).
Since you're into generalizations and assumptions, why don't you take it a step further and say the actual truth, which is that any and every device has crashed at least once in it's lifetime. That at least would be accurate and you would not have to make up some fake figures about Android-based devices.
OTOH, if these numbers are just from your personal experience, they don't mean squat to any other user, light-weight or otherwise.
I've seen iPhones crash left and right around me and believe me their owners would not qualify as heavy users, either. It's just technology, sometimes works, but sometimes doesn't.
To go back to the article, it just proves that iphones are no different from any other devices out there, and people would not even care about their crash -prone behavior if it wasn't for Apple's statements that their devices just work, implying they do that all the time without fail, when in fact they DO fail just as others do. The reference to the famous BSOD "introduced" by Windows now came around in a perfect circle and bit them right where the sun don't shine (sic). Don't claim to be perfect, because sooner or later life is gonna call you out on this.

bye

Wow! You just keep proving more and more how intelligent you are! Do you recall the "🙂" after my statement, that is the one you initially commented on? That should have computed as a similar argument to what you are using to defend your ridiculous "incompetence" comment (the "LOL").

Anyway, no, I can't give you a statistic that 100% android devices crash because it was meant as a humorous. However, I can say that 100% of the android devices I have used have crashed on a more or less regular basis (e.g at least once or twice a month, sometimes much more often).

Despite that, I still love Android though.

I have to ask... Is there some sort of an online dictionary or translation key we can use to decipher the meaning of different smiley faces in different contexts in a sentence? Because, at the moment, any time I see someone say "Didn't you see the (insert inane variant of a smiley face) at the end of my thread, therefore indicating that I was joking/sarcastic/agreeing with you/think you're retarded/kind of like you but don't want to tell everyone how I feel/etc" I can't help but think I'm missing some kind of memo concerning agreed upon meanings for this crap.

That is Apples issue....they think they are the best and invincible. They have nice products, but historically speaking their products cost more than the equivalent. At some point they will have a defining point now that their cherished messiah bit the bullet and his future pipeline items are running low.
