IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Please help.........

There is a driver incompatibility with one of your hardware devices that was caused by upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1. You will need to update the software drivers for that particular hardware device. I would recommend running the driver update tool that is provided by your laptop manufacturer. This tool can usually be found and downloaded from their website. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick reply. This is a Samsung RC410 laptop. It's an pretty old one. Do you know any helpful driver update tool? Samsung doesn't seem to have it. And the driver update tools that I found on the Internet require me to pay. Thank you.

Go into your Control Panel, the Device Manager and look for any devices that have a question mark or exclamation point on them. This indicates a driver or hardware issue. Once you have identified the specific hardware, try looking for the latest version for Windows 8.1. I have found that network cards and sound cards are the two most common hardware that can cause issues if the correct driver is not used with the corresponding OS (i.e. Windows 7 vs. Windows 8.1).
